I am a Theology Student at St Padarns in Wales writing an assignment about the History of Welsh Christianity. I was interested to look at these tables but note no mention of the Welsh Calvinistic Methodists, do you know if this was because their numbers were so small? Also I gather many continued to attend their Anglican Church.

Thanks for your query. Statistics of the Welsh Calvinistic Methodists (more usually known today as the Presbyterian Church of Wales = PCW) are available on the BRIN website to 1970 as part of the Churches and Churchgoers resource, reproduced courtesy of Oxford University Press. I have spent some time trying to gather statistics from 1970 to the present and will be publishing a table in my next book ‘Counting Religion in Britain, 1970-2020: Secularization in Statistical Context’ (Oxford University Press, 2022). PCW membership was 108,000 in 1970, but had halved to 55,700 by 1993, and has since dropped to well under 20,000 (possibly to as little as 15,000). I hope this interim information is of some help.
