Remarks:
Data were weighted to be representative of religious self-identification in the 2021–22 censuses of population across the UK, and they were analysed by three groups: practising Christians (34.8%, who claimed to attend church at least once a month and to read the Bible at least once a month), churchgoing Christians (14.9%, who attended church at least once a month but read the Bible independently less than once a month), and cultural Christians (50.2%, who identified as Christians but attended church less than once a month). The quantitative strand of the research was complemented by 15 qualitative in-depth interviews with practising Christians by video call.
